CHAMP & Town Hall COPs: Connecting Local Climate Action to National and Global Goals

The session focused on implementing COP28's CHAMP initiative for Climate Action and the Town Hall COPs, piloted in 2023 as "local stocktakes." We explored enhancing collaboration across government levels and sectors and integrating local actions into national and international climate agendas ahead of the NDCs due in 2025 at COP30 in Belém, Brazil. Urban leaders and city representatives discussed delivering these initiatives and how cities are pioneering a global movement to implement them locally.

Their insights and expertise of the speakers significantly enhanced the discussion, providing a comprehensive perspective on advancing local climate action.
