FAQ
What is CHAMP?
CHAMP is the Coalition for High Ambition Multilevel Partnerships for Climate Action — a coalition of national governments committing to partner with their cities and regions on climate.
Who can endorse CHAMP?
National governments and the European Union can endorse. Endorsing is a commitment to involve subnational governments in designing and delivering climate plans.
What does endorsing involve?
Endorsers commit to consult and cooperate with cities and regions on national climate strategies (such as NDCs and NAPs) and to help unlock finance for local action. It is a political commitment, not a legal obligation.
How is CHAMP governed?
CHAMP was launched by the COP28 Presidency and Bloomberg Philanthropies and is led by its endorsing governments, supported by a small secretariat and partner organisations.
How can my city, region or organisation get involved?
Cities, regions and partners can express interest through our Get involved form, and national governments through the Endorse CHAMP form.
